Elizabeth Coleman, EdD, LCMHCS, NCC, NBCT
I'm am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A.) and Appalachian State University (M.A., Ed.S., Ed.D.) I have worked in the field of counseling for 9 years as a school counselor, college counselor, and private practice clinician. I work with clients using person-centered, cognitive behavior therapy to help them recognize their strengths and abilities to overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and improve relationships. I specialize in working with young adolescents and teenagers as they navigate critical life transitions. My dissertation, which focuses on student transitions to middle school, can be read here. I also advocate for the role of counselors as mental health professionals in public education and speak on related subjects.

Ruby Thomas, MSW, LCSWA
I earned my Bachelor’s degree and Master of Social Work from Walden University and have a passion for helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges in a supportive and empowering environment. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in community mental health, providing support for concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, social anxiety, family stress, and emotional regulation. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and person-centered, meeting clients where they are while helping them build on their strengths and move toward their goals. I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and strengths-based interventions, while providing affirming care to LGBTQ+ individuals and families. I believe therapy should be a safe space for growth, healing, and self-discovery, and I strive to help clients develop practical tools, increase resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
